The Leicester Town Band History
In 2008, Kristina Looney, Molly Dube were talking about the good old days in the Leicester High School Band after they graduated. While looking for playing opportunities, they reached out the Nick Narcisi to see if he would be willing to help them start a town band. After putting ads in the local papers, rehearsals started in the summer of 2008. While no concerts were played the first season, all members had a great time and continued on in 2009
The bands first concert was at the Leicester Senior Center, followed by another concert on the Leicester Common. The winter band was formed in 2009 with 15 members providing Christmas cheer at the local malls and a concert at Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston, MA. Also In 2009 the band formed its first board of directors and incorporated as a Non-Profit corporation.
The 2010 concert season added summer concerts on the Sturbridge Common, the West Boylston Common, and the Leicester Common Concert Series followed by the Christmas band concerts in December.
